When you love each other, but keep getting stuck

You may care deeply about your relationship and still find yourselves having the same arguments, feeling misunderstood, or growing more disconnected over time.

Sometimes conflict becomes a cycle: one person pushes for answers while the other shuts down. Conversations escalate quickly or important things go unsaid because it feels easier than risking another argument. Over time, both partners can begin to feel lonely, defensive, or unsure how to reach each other.

Other couples may be navigating broken trust, intimacy concerns, major life transitions, parenting stress, or differences in needs and expectations. Even when the problem looks different on the surface, the deeper issue is often the pattern the two of you have become caught in together.

Couples counseling offers a space to slow those patterns down, understand what is happening underneath the conflict, and practice new ways of communicating, repairing, and reconnecting.

What Couples counseling with me looks like

Couples counseling with me is collaborative, balanced, and practical. My role is not to decide who is right or wrong, but to help both of you understand the patterns that keep pulling you into the same conflict and create space for something different.

We’ll work together to slow down difficult interactions and understand what is happening underneath them. Often, the argument on the surface is only part of the story. Underneath may be fear of rejection, feeling unimportant or misunderstood, difficulty trusting, or uncertainty about how to ask for what you need.

Our sessions may include identifying recurring conflict cycles, practicing healthier communication, rebuilding emotional safety, strengthening friendship and intimacy, and learning how to repair after conflict rather than staying disconnected.

You won’t be expected to come into therapy already knowing how to fix your relationship. My role is to help both partners feel heard, understand the relationship more clearly, and develop new ways of communicating and connecting that can continue outside of the therapy room.

You don’t have to keep having the same conversation.

If you’re ready to understand the patterns keeping you disconnected, communicate more openly, and build a stronger relationship, I’d be glad to support you both.
